NR7 / Inside Day

US

Toby Crabel showed that very narrow trading days tend to be followed by wide ones. An NR7 day has the narrowest high-to-low range of the last seven days; an inside day trades entirely within the previous day's range. This list shows NYSE and Nasdaq stocks with either pattern on the latest bar, most actively traded first. Traders place a buy stop above the day's high and a sell stop below its low and trade the breakout. Penny stocks and illiquid names are excluded.

Screening formula:
exch(nyse,nasdaq) and type(stock) and price > 1 and advol(21) > 1 and (nr7 or inside_day) and sortby(advol(5), desc) and show(advol(5) as turnover_5d_m)
