High Relative Volume

Asia

This screen lists stocks on Asian exchanges whose volume today is more than twice the 21-day average, sorted by relative volume. Relative volume is the most common way day traders find what is in play: unusual activity usually means news, earnings or a technical breakout, and it brings the liquidity and range intraday setups need. Today's volume accumulates through the session, so a reading above 2 early in the day signals especially heavy trading. Prices are in each exchange's local currency, and the list covers stocks traded in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul and Jakarta with at least about US$0.7 million in average daily trading value.

Screening formula:
exch(tse,hkse,ses,krx,ise) and (type(stock) and ((exch(tse) and advol(21) > 100) or (exch(hkse) and advol(21) > 5) or (exch(ses) and advol(21) > 1) or (exch(krx) and advol(21) > 1000) or (exch(ise) and advol(21) > 10000))) and rvol(21) > 2 and sortby(rvol(21), desc) and show(rvol(21) as rvol)
