Chart Template FAQ

What is a chart template?

A chart template is a saved set of chart settings and indicators that you can apply to any symbol, so you do not have to set up the chart every time.

Which chart types and periods can I use?

Bar, candlestick, Heikin Ashi, line, marker line, Renko and Point and Figure charts, on periods from 5-minute to monthly bars.

Which indicators can I add to a template?

More than 100 indicators, such as moving averages, RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, Ichimoku, SuperTrend and VWAP, line studies such as trendlines and Fibonacci levels, and market breadth data such as advance-decline lines.

Can I compare a stock with other symbols?

Yes. Enter one or more comma-separated symbols in the Compare Symbol box to show them on the same chart.

Can I change the colors and the scale of the chart?

Yes. Choose a color scheme and a current bar color, a linear or logarithmic scale, the chart size and zoom, and whether to show the volume.

How do I save a chart template?

Enter a template name, set up the chart and save it. Saving requires a MarketInOut account, and your saved templates appear in My Chart Templates.

Can I adjust prices for dividends?

Yes. The template has an option to adjust data for dividends, so you can view either adjusted or unadjusted prices.
