Renko Chart

A Renko chart is built from bricks of equal size: a new brick is drawn only when the price moves by a full brick size, so small fluctuations and time are ignored. Enter a symbol and set the brick size as a fixed amount or based on the Average True Range. Rising bricks are white and falling bricks are black, which makes trends and reversals easy to read. Use the Renko screens below to find stocks with new white or black trends, turnaround bricks, double tops and bottoms or triangle breakouts.

Renko Chart FAQ

What is a Renko chart?

A Renko chart is built from bricks of equal size. A new brick is drawn only when the price moves by a full brick size, so small fluctuations and time are ignored.

How do I choose the brick size?

Set the brick size as a fixed amount or base it on the Average True Range with the ATR period you choose. Larger bricks filter out more noise but react more slowly.

How do you read a Renko chart?

A series of white bricks shows an uptrend and a series of black bricks shows a downtrend. The first brick of the opposite color after a trend can mark a reversal.

What is the difference between Renko and candlestick charts?

Candlesticks show one candle per time period. Renko bricks are added only when the price moves by a full brick, so trends are easier to see but signals come later.

Which patterns can I see on a Renko chart?

Double and triple tops and bottoms, triangle breakouts, bull and bear traps, long tail reversals and turnaround bricks.

Why does a Renko chart ignore time?

A brick is added only when the price moves by a full brick size, so quiet periods add nothing and only meaningful moves are shown.

How do I find stocks with Renko signals?

Use the Renko screens to find stocks with new white or black trends, turnaround bricks, double tops and bottoms or triangle breakouts.
