Near Pivot

Canada

The pivot is the high of the last contraction in a VCP base, the price Mark Minervini uses as his buy point. This is step 5 of the Minervini ladder: it keeps the Trend Template and VCP conditions and lists stocks on the Toronto Stock Exchange trading within 6% of their 20-day high while the 10-day average volume is below the 50-day average, a sign that sellers have dried up. This is the list to watch for the next breakout; the pivot price is shown for each stock. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and the list covers TSX-listed stocks with at least C$1 million in average daily trading value.

Screening formula:
exch(tsx) and type(stock) and advol(21) > 1 and price > sma(50) and sma(50) > sma(150) and sma(150) > sma(200) and sma(200) > sma(200)@21 and price >= 1.25 * w52low and price >= 0.75 * w52high and rs(252) >= 70 and range(20)@40 > range(20)@20 and range(20)@20 > range(10) and range(10) < 15 and off_high(50) < 15 and off_high(20) < 6 and avol(10) < avol(50) and sortby(off_high(20), asc) and show(highest(20) as pivot, off_high(20) as below_pivot_pct)
