Upthrust

India

An upthrust is the mirror of a spring and a typical sign of distribution in the Wyckoff method: price pokes above resistance, triggers breakout buyers and stops, then falls back into the range. This screen lists stocks on the Bombay Stock Exchange where a bull trap has formed on the resistance lines of the SNR indicator (fractal-based support and resistance) with volume above its 21-day average. Breakout buyers caught above resistance often add to the selling. Prices are in Indian rupees, and the list covers BSE-listed stocks with at least 50 million rupees in average daily trading value.

Screening formula:
exch(bse) and type(stock) and advol(21) > 50 and snr(9) snr_bulltrap and cvol > avol(21)
