The Negative Volume Index (NVI) changes only on days when volume falls, on the idea that the crowd trades on busy days while informed money acts on quiet ones. That is why NVI is often called a smart money index. This screen lists stocks on Asian exchanges whose NVI has just crossed above its 255-day signal line, a classic sign that quiet-day buying is turning positive. Confirm with the price trend or money flow before acting. Prices are in each exchange's local currency, and the list covers stocks traded in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul and Jakarta with at least about US$0.7 million in average daily trading value.
