This screen ranks stocks on the London Stock Exchange by return on invested capital (ROIC), highest first, and shows the top 100. ROIC measures how much profit a company earns on the debt and equity invested in it, and a ROIC well above the cost of capital is a mark of a high-quality business with a competitive edge. Very high values can come from a small capital base, so check consistency over several years. LSE prices are quoted in pence, and the list skips thinly traded shares.
