A fractal Bull Trap is a false breakout: the price rises above the latest upper fractal and then falls back below it. A Bill Williams fractal is a five-bar pattern: an upper fractal is a high with two lower highs on each side, and a lower fractal is a low with two higher lows on each side. The latest fractals act as nearby resistance and support. Buyers who entered on the breakout are trapped, and their selling often pushes the price toward the lower fractal.
